Mapping "Candy Stores", "Corner Vendors"

East Garfield Park - Pilsen - Cermak, and Back
On last Saturday I road the #82 Kimball/Homan bus to the #21 to go to the Cermak Industrial District Open House. On the way, I noted how may neighborhood candy stores, and vending carts were along the route. I spotted a "Candy Store" at Douglas Park and Central Park, the vendors from that point were in Pilsen.Cermak CTA #21 riding through Pilsen:

The Corner -Vendors have colorful umbrella carts, stocked with snow cones favors, Mexican snacks, fresh fruit cups, toys hanging off the side: Walgreens @ Damen, El Guero/Hoyne, Cermak/Western at the bus stop, Super Mall 2500 w/Cermak, K-Department Store/Cermak, Marshall/Cermak, LaAztec, Albany/Cermak.

I think I will contact the Pilsen Chamber to see if these vendors need a permit to do business on the streets. The little tables or milk crate ones in East Garfield surely don't. Riding the #82 Kimball North on 08/21/09 I only saw two candy stores at Dicken/Kimball, and Evergreen/Kimball, perhaps the summer is winding down now and children are getting ready for back to school.
