61st Street Filming at Overton Elementary

Totally random and by surprise,  I was contacted recently by MANDY HACKENBERG, of Clear-Rights.com.

They are working on a new series set to air on AMC. 61st Street a propulsive courtroom drama that follows Moses Johnson, a promising, black high school athlete, who is swept up into the infamously corrupt Chicago criminal justice system.  Taken by the police as a supposed gang member, he finds himself in the eye of the storm as police and prosecutors seek revenge for the death of an officer during a drug bust gone wrong. Timely and provocative, 61st Street is set against the systemic abuse happening in some of our country’s most vulnerable communities.

 Filming at Overton Elementary and were seeking permission to show my mural in the show as it appears at this location. I'm also honored that the company contacted me and acknowledged my authorship. I just hope that the young artists that assisted me on this project are able to see themselves, and the artwork they envisioned having live, post-school closure in the summer of 2008.

CAST: Tosin Cole,  Aunjanue Ellis, Bentley Green, Courtney B. Vance

Tosin Cole was born on 23 July 1992. He is a British actor known for his roles in Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015) as Lieutenant Bastian, EastEnders: E20 (2010) as Sol Levi, and Hollyoaks (1995) as Neil Cooper. Cole began his acting career in 2009 around the age of 17, in a modern-day stage reproduction of William Shakespeare's.
